julie :: singer
Julie singing her own songs is an extraordinary experience, not to be missed. Her rich translucent poetry is perfectly matched to her unique and beautiful voice. Sincere, authentic, and powerful, she belongs in the company of great songwriters like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen, whose songs take on a new dimension and meaning when heard from their own lips.back to top
julie :: songwriter
Internationally recognized as an important lyrical voice, Julie infuses each of her many projects with a rich, poetic aura that is uniquely hers.Often spiritually themed, always deeply lived, her songs map the infinite geography of the human heart—a safe and dangerous place where love and loss inextricably twine in a rich mortal coil of passionate opposites.

emil adler :: collaborator
Emil’s songs and arrangements reward both the heart and the mind with immediate satisfaction and a deepening pleasure of repeated listening. Emil has also composed extensively for television and film, with songs appearing in major and independent motion pictures, television shows, documentaries and commercials.
As a producer, he discovered and produced Sufjan Stevens’ first band, Marzuki, set the musical direction for Sylvia Tosun, and produced the first recordings of singer/songwriter, Lee Feldman.
Emil’s extreme modesty and tendency to prefer being “behind the scenes” does not keep him from being a very appealing stage performer. His idiosyncratic keyboard style is as compelling and unique as his songwriting; and those who have seen him “live” know he could have had a second career as a comedian. His razor quick wit and warm presence are unforgettable.

november project
November Project was a brief but beautiful musical group. It featured the distinctive voice of Mary Anne Marino and the inimitable songs of Julie and Emil, some of which topped the charts of a number of independent and college radio stations. The group’s five-song CD, A Thousand Days, sold out its sizeable production run. Sadly the band’s almost completed full-length album was not released when the band split up.back to top
